We need more volunteers. Could you help?
Child Contact Centres are safe, friendly and neutral places where children can spend time with a parent or other relative who does not live with them. Our Contact Centre is accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers prepare the Centre before children arrive; welcome families and show them around; listen to adults and children without judging or taking sides; encourage healthy parent-child interaction and tidy up once the Centre is closed.
What kinds of people are needed?
Volunteers need to be over 18 and be impartial, caring, tolerant, sensitive, flexible, discreet and reliable. They must always put children’s needs first. All staff and volunteers are checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service and are expected to attend ongoing training.
How much time will I need to give?
Volunteers commit to helping at one Saturday session per month, either for the whole day [from 9.30 to 3.15 approx.] or for half a day.
What’s in it for me?
We believe that parenting shouldn’t end when adult relationships do.
You will have the satisfaction of contributing to the wellbeing of children and families in difficult circumstances. The rewards of seeing parents and children enjoying time together are immense.
